At 13-years-old, Gabby Goodwin made six figures by the sixth grade with her adorable invention GaBBY Bows.
The teentrepreneur has been perfecting her product since she was seven-years-old. And now, at just 13 years old, Gabby’s products can be found on the shelves in 74 Target stores throughout the United States.
Confidence by Gabby Goodwin is a natural hair care brand for children invented by Gabrielle Goodwin and her mom Rozalynn. It is the first ever patented double-face double-snap hair barrette that solves the age-old problem of disappearing hair barrettes.
It began as an idea when she was five years old. Gabby kept losing her hair barrettes and asked her mother to make their own. They invented GaBBY bows after spending much time on developing their product. It is stronger than normal barrettes due to its double-face and double-snap aspects.
The company officially launched and began selling barrettes at gabbybows.com in February 2014, which was an immediate success. Gabby earned recognition as the South Carolina Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015. The SCORE and Sam’s Club named Gabby the American Small Business Champion the following year .
Gabby is also the 2018 Black Enterprise Teenpreneur of the Year. She has received national press coverage through television shows like The Real and The Today Show, and publications like the Washington Post, Essence.com, and Madamnoire.
The mother-daughter duo launched the Mommy and Me Entrepreneurship Academy in 2018. Together they offer mentorship to Girl Bosses and their mothers.
